Wedding Photo Sharing Apps Compared
There is no single best wedding photo sharing app. The right one depends on whether your guests will install an app, whether you want their videos, how long uploads stay open and whether you need the original files. Guest.Gallery publishes this comparison of 11 tools. Competitor details in the first table are vendors’ published information checked on 9 October 2026, and the dates for the second table are given above it; their upload reliability and purchase flows have not been independently tested.
Which type of wedding photo sharing app fits you
Most tools on this page are one of four types. Choose the type first, then compare the vendors in the tables below.
- A free shared album, such as a Google Photos shared album or a WhatsApp group: enough for a small wedding where most guests already use that app and you mainly want photos.
- An app the guests install, such as Celebrate, whose FAQ asks guests to use its app (it also has a web uploader for photos): fits when your guests are happy to install it before they upload.
- A QR web album, such as Guest.Gallery, Wedbox, GUESTPIX, Wedibox, GuestCam, Kululu or Fotify: guests scan one QR code and upload without installing an app. With Guest.Gallery, an iPhone may open the QR code as an App Clip, which runs without installing the full app. Fits when you want photos and videos from as many guests as possible in one place. Compare upload windows, video support and original-quality downloads, because they differ a lot.
- A disposable-camera app, such as POV: the host chooses how many photos each guest can take, and it opens as an iOS App Clip or an Android web page. Fits when you want the fun of a camera at the party more than a complete archive. POV is free for up to 10 personal-event guests.
When another tool fits better
- You only want photos from a few guests: a free shared album is enough.
- You want guest uploads saved straight into your own Google Drive: WedUploader is built for that.
- You want invitations and RSVPs in the same tool: Fotify includes them (20 on the free event, unlimited on Premium Event). Sharing by link, QR code or WhatsApp is free; email and SMS delivery use prepaid credits.
- You want the gallery hosted for longer than 12 months: Wedibox All-In-One advertises 2 years, and GuestCam Premium 14 months from the event date.
- You expect well over 100 guests and want everyone included without asking first: GUESTPIX advertises up to 1,000 guests per event under Fair Use. Guest.Gallery Premium fair use is about 100 guests and about 1GB per guest, so contact us before a larger event.

How to choose a wedding photo sharing tool
Photos, videos and plan differences
Guest.Gallery Basic and Premium, Wedbox and GUESTPIX advertise photo and video collection. Celebrate offers free photo sharing, with video uploads on Premium. POV focuses on a disposable-camera-style photo experience; video support has not been verified here.
Guest access and downloads
With Guest.Gallery, guests don’t need to install an app or create an account; on iPhone the QR code may open an App Clip. Wedbox and GUESTPIX also advertise browser uploads without an app download. POV uses an iOS App Clip or Android web experience. Celebrate’s FAQ requires the guest app and also documents a photo web uploader. Check download permissions and any upgrade requirements before choosing a plan.
Test the actual guest experience
Create a test event, scan the QR code on an iPhone and an Android phone, and try uploading and downloading a sample file. Check the venue’s internet connection and your intended privacy settings before printing the cards. A QR code or event link can be forwarded; it does not verify a guest’s identity.
Upload windows, hosting and prices
- Wedbox: The official FAQ advertises two months of free storage after the wedding and paid extensions. Wedbox’s US App Store listing (checked 25 October 2026) shows in-app purchases including “Single download” for $23.99 and “Yearly hosting subscription” for $11.49, without describing what each covers. Its current upload deadline was not verified.
- Guest.Gallery: Basic includes 25GB and three months of gallery access and storage. Premium includes twelve months with Fair Use limits. Windows run from the selected activation/event date; the archive date in your account is the deadline to check. See current prices in your selected currency.
- Guestpix: Classic separates three months of uploads from twelve months of hosting, starting from the event date. Signature advertises twelve months for both. Check the current package and currency; a three-month upload window is not three months of storage.
- Celebrate: The FAQ says photos remain until deleted or account deletion. Videos require Premium and are deleted after the subscription expires. Monthly and annual subscriptions are advertised; check the current price and currency.
- POV: The pricing calculator offers a free personal event for up to ten guests and paid guest tiers. Current hosting and upload deadlines have not been verified; check them before purchase.
Storage and practical limits
- Wedbox: Exact current file and total-storage caps were not confirmed from the official pages reviewed.
- Guest.Gallery: Basic has 25GB total capacity. Premium covers private events and a small company's Christmas party under Fair Use, with an expectation of up to 100 guests and up to 1GB per guest. Contact Guest.Gallery in advance for larger events, higher per-guest allocations, public events or other commercial events.
- Guestpix: Unlimited photos and videos are advertised under Fair Use, with up to 1,000 guests per event and custom options for larger events. Exact current file and total-storage caps have not been verified.
- Celebrate: The FAQ advertises no maximum photo count. Other current file and video limits have not been verified.
- POV: Hosts choose the number of photos each guest can take. Confirm the current allowance and event settings before purchase.
When a free shared album is enough
A WhatsApp group or a Google Photos shared album can be enough for a small wedding where most guests already use that app and you mainly want photos. In Google Photos, the album owner can share a link to the album, and Google’s help page explains how other people can add photos to it. Check what your guests need to do to add photos before you print the link.
A paid event tool fits better when you want videos from everyone, one QR code printed on cards, a live photo wall at the party, or one ZIP of all the originals by a date you know in advance. Whatever you choose, test one upload from an iPhone and one from an Android phone first.
Choose for your wedding
A free photo-only album may fit a small event. Compare the guest steps, video support, download rights, hosting deadline and any subscription before choosing. Paid plans are useful when their specific features match your needs.
Guest.Gallery lets guests upload wedding photos and videos without an app or a login (an iPhone may open the QR code as an App Clip), with printable QR cards and Basic or Premium access windows. Check current pricing and Fair Use terms, and download your originals before the event’s archive date to keep your own backup.
Wedding photo sharing apps: questions and answers
What’s the best app for sharing wedding photos?
It depends on your guests and on what you want to keep. If many guests won’t install an app, choose a QR web album. If you want videos, check that the plan includes them: Celebrate needs Premium for videos, Wedding Photo Swap includes guest videos on Platinum only, and Fotify from Premium Event. If you want the original files, check for original-quality downloads and the date the gallery closes. Guest.Gallery publishes this page, so check the vendor sources listed on it yourself.
Do guests need to download an app?
Not with most tools on this page. Guest.Gallery, Wedbox, GUESTPIX, Wedibox, GuestCam, Kululu, Fotify and Wedding Photo Swap advertise guest uploads without an app. With Guest.Gallery, guests scan the QR code and upload without an app or a login; on an iPhone the code may open an App Clip, which runs without installing the full app. POV opens as an iOS App Clip or an Android web page. Celebrate’s FAQ asks guests to use its app and also describes a web uploader for photos.
Is there a free way to share wedding photos?
Yes. A Google Photos shared album or a WhatsApp group can be enough for a small wedding where you mainly want photos. Several vendors also have free plans with limits: Wedibox’s free plan allows 50 guest photo uploads, Fotify’s free event allows 50 photos for 7 days, POV is free for up to 10 personal-event guests, and Celebrate shares photos for free, with videos on Premium.
Which wedding photo sharing apps keep the original quality?
Guest.Gallery keeps the original photos and videos on Basic and Premium, and you can download them until the archive date. GUESTPIX advertises full-resolution ZIP downloads, Celebrate original-quality downloads, GuestCam a ZIP in original quality, and Wedibox an original-quality ZIP on its Wedding plan. Fotify keeps the original resolution on paid plans, while free events are optimized. Wedding Photo Swap saves media at original quality, with a full-gallery download on Gold and Platinum. Download a test file before the wedding to check.
How long can guests upload, and how long is the gallery kept?
With Guest.Gallery, Basic runs up to 3 months and Premium up to 12 months from your event date, and uploads can open up to 14 days before the event. The gallery closes on the archive date. Media are normally deleted about 14 days later and ZIP files after 6 months; timing can vary, as our Terms explain. Download your own copy before the archive date. Other tools range from 7 days on Fotify’s free event to 2 years of hosting on Wedibox All-In-One; see the tables above.
